Privacy Policy

Who we are

PageLint is built by an independent developer.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist:

  • Your email address
  • The URL you submitted for audit
  • Timestamp of submission
  • Your tier preference (free or founder)

When you use the site:

  • Anonymous usage analytics via PostHog (page views, scroll depth, interactions)
  • No cookies for tracking — PostHog uses anonymous session identifiers
  • IP address is logged by our server for security (auto-deleted after 30 days)

How we use your data

  • To notify you when PageLint opens for access
  • To send you your audit report (once Phase 2 launches)
  • To improve the product based on aggregate analytics
  • We do not sell your data. Ever.
  • We do not share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not use your data for third-party marketing.

Payment processing

When you purchase a subscription or one-time audit, your payment is processed by Paddle.com Inc., our merchant of record. Paddle handles:

  • Credit card and payment data (we never see your card details)
  • Sales tax and VAT collection for your jurisdiction
  • Refund processing
  • Customer invoicing

Paddle's privacy policy applies to payment data: paddle.com/legal/privacy.

We receive from Paddle:

  • Your email address (already on file)
  • Subscription status (active, cancelled, past-due)
  • Plan tier and billing dates
  • Country of purchase (for analytics)

We do not receive your card details, full address, or payment method.

AI audit processing

When you submit a URL for audit:

  1. We fetch the public HTML of that page (using Browserless headless browser)
  2. We extract text content (headings, body copy, CTAs)
  3. We send extracted text to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis
  4. Anthropic processes the text and returns audit findings
  5. We discard the original page HTML — only the audit report is stored

Anthropic's data policy: does not train models on API inputs; retains data for 30 days for trust & safety review. Full policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

We never send your account details (email, payment info) to Anthropic. Only the page content you submit is processed.

How we store it

  • Data is stored on a private server with access restricted to the service operator
  • Passwords and secrets are encrypted
  • We use PostHog for analytics — their privacy policy applies to anonymous usage data only

Your rights (GDPR-aligned)

You can at any time:

  • Request a copy of your data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Unsubscribe from waitlist notifications
  • Object to analytics tracking (use browser's “Do Not Track” or ad blocker)

Children's data

PageLint is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and notify waitlist subscribers via email if the changes are material.
